Maine-ly Transcription is proud to once again sponsor team Fight Like a Girl in the
American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. This year's event will take place in Portland, Maine, on Sunday, October 16, 2011. We are looking forward to 2011 being our most successful year yet, and plan to surpass the $1,500 we raised last year to support this fantastic cause!
Why I'm Making Strides
Breast Cancer and My Family
Each year, I walk to honor the three tremendous women in my own family who have had breast cancer: Muriel Haynes, Ruth Davis and Barbara Ellis.
I walk to do my part in raising much-needed funding to further life-saving treatments, and to enable scientists to continue their work to one day find a CURE for breast cancer, so that one day we might live in a world where women and men no longer hear the words, "You have breast cancer."
I walk to teach my daughters the richness of doing something which does not directly benefit them - to experience with them the fantastic feeling of having done something simply because it's something we believe in.
I walk in celebration of my own health and the health of those I love.
Most of all, I walk because breast cancer's devastating effect on families touches me deeply. I am honored and blessed to once again stand united with so many in combating this heart-wrenching disease.
Please join me. Together, we CAN and DO make a difference!
My wishes for peace and good health to all,
Jodi (Damon) Bolduc
